Image
for this lesson of animate we added features to our balls, and try how how the movement and speed affected these features so how legs would work or a tail and so on.

Invisible cities Reflective Statement

Reflecting back on the 'Invisible cities project,  there are a lot of things that I could have improved on in the project, however, I am proud of what I have archived with the project considering that I've never really used photoshop to paint before. One thing that I have struggled in with this project was time management which I have never been very good at. I put stuff off which cause me to get behind and then later panic about it when it should have been finished with., and that most of the time I was uncombable posting my work online for the first time. Doing 100 thumbnails at the time seemed daunting, and I found it hard to come up with different designs for each city. For my final 3 concept art, I found it hard to Imagine what they would look like or how the perspective would work as I have never really drawn buildings or in my case tents before and didn't find it enjoyable to draw, However, one major Thing that I like about my work woul...

Exterior Establishing Shot for Ersilla

Exterior Establishing Shot for Ersilla  This is my exterior establishing shot for my chosen city, Ersilla. For this painting, I chose to use a cloth wall leading to the city, which was influenced by the artists, Christo Vladimirov Javacheff and Jeanne-Claude, who are a married couple who created environmental works of art, and their cloth fence.

Ersilla Influence Map

Image
This is my influence map for my chosen city, Ersilla. I based this map on the feedback I got from my OGR, so I focused more on how the city would work logically and tried to think bigger than I was before.

Animate: Weight and Bouncing

Image
In today's Animate lesson, we learnt how weight affects different things objects and used what we learnt last week to help with this. we used different sided objects like boiling balls, ping pong balls, tennis balls, and how the weight affects the object when it hits a surface.  For this ball, I found it the easiest to do as ping pong get faster as they hit a surface. so as the ball got faster I used used less frames in each bounce.    This ball shows how weight effects an object when it hits a surfaces. these cause the ball to get squished and stenches when it bounces. For my ball, It should be more fastest in the middle so I should have less frames and be more spread out.   For the boiling ball one, It ended up being too fast at the end and the second jump isn't quite right. I ended up not changing it as could move any of my frames without losing some of my shapes. I also think my jumps should be slower so I should have added more frames....

Invisible Cities Thumbnails (Zenobia)

Image
These are my thumbnails for the city Zenobia. For these thumbnails, I accidentally did the outline on the wrong layer, however, I managed to sort it out so that it wasn't a problem. My favourite thumbnails are numbers 148 and 149. These are my favourite because I like how I drew the house and bridge along with the small details I added in some places.

Invisible Cities Thumbnails (Thekla)

Image
These are my thumbnails for the city Thekla. My favourite thumbnails are 139 as I like how I did the plank fence with the cranes behind it. I also like number 143 as I like how I did draw the crane and tried to make it slightly 3D.

Invisible Cities Thumbnails (Tamara)

Image
These are my thumbnails for the city Tamara.  My favourite thumbnails for this city is 130 and 132. 130 is one of my favourites because of the way I did the signs on the buildings. 132 is my other favourite because I like the way I did the rocks and shading on them.

Invisible Cities Thumbnails (Sophronia)

These are my thumbnails for the city Sophronia. My favourite thumbnail is 126 as I like the way I laid out the city and showed the two different halves of the city.

Thumbnails Experimenting

Image
In today's lesson we tried out different ways to draw thumbnails so that we knew others way to do them so we didn't get burned out and have no idea what to draw If we get stuck. For my first set of thumbnails, which are more of the city Ersilla, I tried out an range of brushes and made my own brush to create the tents which I envision the city to have. I tended to favor an chalk mod brush to add any shading or details. For the 4 other thumbnails, I tired creating them using different shapes, both industrial and environmental, and painting over them so there wasn't as much as a harsh contrast.

Invisible Cities Thumbnails (Phyllis)

Image
These thumbnails for the city, Phyllis. I found this city challenging  as I did not find it as fun or interesting as some of the other cities and didn't really know how to represent the city. My favorite thumbnail are 119 as I liked how I drew the  hidden stairway.
