Exterior Establishing Shot for Ersilla

Exterior Establishing Shot for Ersilla
This is my exterior establishing shot for my chosen city, Ersilla. For this painting, I chose to use a cloth wall leading to the city, which was influenced by the artists, Christo Vladimirov Javacheff and Jeanne-Claude, who are a married couple who created environmental works of art, and their cloth fence.

  1. So one observation I'd make here is that you've got a lot of grass on show here - when it could be argued that 'the grass' isn't telling us very much about your city. The grass is also big in terms of scale, which makes 'the wall' seem very little. My advice would be to come up with a way of introducing the strings into these scene - so they enter the image from the foreground to break-up all that grass - perhaps think of them as trails left by those who have moved off to live elsewhere -or something - it just seems a shame to give all that image-space over to something that 'isn't' describing your world a bit more. Does that make sense? I think if you were to have strings leading into the image, you'd take our eye with you and towards the city...
