Exterior Establishing Shot for Ersilla

Image
Exterior Establishing Shot for Ersilla  This is my exterior establishing shot for my chosen city, Ersilla. For this painting, I chose to use a cloth wall leading to the city, which was influenced by the artists, Christo Vladimirov Javacheff and Jeanne-Claude, who are a married couple who created environmental works of art, and their cloth fence.

Ersilla Influence Map

Image
This is my influence map for my chosen city, Ersilla. I based this map on the feedback I got from my OGR, so I focused more on how the city would work logically and tried to think bigger than I was before.

Invisible Cities Thumbnails (Zenobia)

Image
These are my thumbnails for the city Zenobia. For these thumbnails, I accidentally did the outline on the wrong layer, however, I managed to sort it out so that it wasn't a problem. My favourite thumbnails are numbers 148 and 149. These are my favourite because I like how I drew the house and bridge along with the small details I added in some places.

Invisible Cities Thumbnails (Thekla)

Image
These are my thumbnails for the city Thekla. My favourite thumbnails are 139 as I like how I did the plank fence with the cranes behind it. I also like number 143 as I like how I did draw the crane and tried to make it slightly 3D.

Invisible Cities Thumbnails (Tamara)

Image
These are my thumbnails for the city Tamara.  My favourite thumbnails for this city is 130 and 132. 130 is one of my favourites because of the way I did the signs on the buildings. 132 is my other favourite because I like the way I did the rocks and shading on them.

Invisible Cities Thumbnails (Sophronia)

Image
These are my thumbnails for the city Sophronia. My favourite thumbnail is 126 as I like the way I laid out the city and showed the two different halves of the city.

Thumbnails Experimenting

Image
In today's lesson we tried out different ways to draw thumbnails so that we knew others way to do them so we didn't get burned out and have no idea what to draw If we get stuck. For my first set of thumbnails, which are more of the city Ersilla, I tried out an range of brushes and made my own brush to create the tents which I envision the city to have. I tended to favor an chalk mod brush to add any shading or details. For the 4 other thumbnails, I tired creating them using different shapes, both industrial and environmental, and painting over them so there wasn't as much as a harsh contrast.

Invisible Cities Thumbnails (Phyllis)

Image
These thumbnails for the city, Phyllis. I found this city challenging  as I did not find it as fun or interesting as some of the other cities and didn't really know how to represent the city. My favorite thumbnail are 119 as I liked how I drew the  hidden stairway.

Invisible Cities Thumbnails (Moriana)

Image
These are the thumbnails for the City, Moriana. I found this city challenging to do as it was hard for me to imagine Moriana and its hidden face together and didn't really know how to put the two together as one city. My favourite is 105 as I like the way I have done the build and the columns.

Invisible Cities Thumbnails (Leonia)

Image
Here are my thumbnails for the city, Leonia. My two favourites from this city are 97 and 99. I like these ones because of the way I did the city layout along with how I made it look like a city, as I imagine Leonia too look like a big skyscraper city.

Invisible Cities Thumbnails (Isaura)

Image
Here are my thumbnails for the city, Isaura. My favourite thumbnail is 94 as I liked the way I have layout the sketch and how it is a full view of the city along with my shading and the contrast it creates.

Invisible Cities Thumbnails (Fedora)

Image
These are my thumbnails for the invisible city, Fedora. I don't think I'm going to be doing Fedora as my main city as it is the one I've found most challenging to do so far and did have as much fun doing them than others. My favourite thumbnail would be 80 as I like the way I positioned the rooms and the shading.
