Here is the start of my thumbnails for our Project Invisible Cities, Focusing on the city Armilla. One of the main thing which I though Armilla looked like was that this city of pipes, baths and taps were on a platform that overflowed over the edge and created a waterfall effect as he said it could be seen as enchanting like a teacup and saucer was overflowing. I feel like my lines could have been clearer so it is easier to see the thumbnails and what everything is.
Hi Grace,
ReplyDeleteWell done on getting your first review out there!
An excellent discussion around the links between German Expressionism and the film - just make sure that you are giving your reader all the background info that thay need. For example you say, 'expressionist artists such as Die Brucke', which sounds like Die Brucke is an individual person rather than an art movement. Something like 'The director, Robert Wiene, was heavily Influenced by expressionist artists such as those in the art movement called Die Brucke, an art movement which...' etc.
Your concluding sentence, 'This has allowed it to continue to be used today', would have been an opprtunity to mention a few of the films that 'Caligari' has influenced, such as the films of Tim Burton.
A good start though - looking forward to reading your next review!
